Invading German airborne troops recieved an unexpected surprise in the form of a very warm wecome from the airfield defences, several gliders and aircraft were brought down early.

Local Greek infantry units were amonst the first to respond to the invasion, launching local counter attacks a they stumbled upon enemy units.

British Infantry, once organised join in the attempts to repel the invaders, sadly it is too little too late.
